More about me

I am a psychologist working with children and young people from 4 to 18 who are autistic, have ADHD, or are navigating other developmental and emotional difficulties, and with the parents around them.

A significant part of my work is with selective mutism, which I first specialised in at a developmental clinic in Hong Kong. I have also worked one-to-one with adolescents aged 11 to 18 struggling with anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, self-esteem and the pressure of school, often young people who are autistic or have ADHD and are trying to work out how to manage in environments not built with them in mind. That work is ELSA-informed, drawing on emotional literacy approaches alongside CBT and person-centred practice.

My background spans both clinical and school settings. I trained in Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and have worked as a counsellor in a developmental clinic, within the neurodevelopmental support team at an international school in Hong Kong, and as a group coordinator running therapeutic programmes for children with neurodevelopmental needs in Rotterdam. I work in private practice in Rotterdam as Horizon Psychology.

I work in English, Spanish and Italian, and I grew up between three countries myself. Families who have moved to the Netherlands often say the hardest part is explaining their child to a new system in a new language, so if it helps to have those first conversations in your own language, that is possible here.

How I work depends on the child. With younger children, and particularly with selective mutism, I usually begin in the child's own home, where they are most comfortable and where I can see what daily life actually looks like. With older children and adolescents I work from a consultation room in Rotterdam or online, and parent sessions can be online, which many families find easier to fit around work. Alongside direct therapy I offer parent guidance, school liaison and classroom observation, because change tends to hold better when the adults around a child are working from the same understanding.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call before anything is booked, so we can talk through what you are looking for and whether I am the right fit.
