1. What is AutismTherapy.nl?

AutismTherapy.nl is an online professional directory designed to help families find and contact independent professionals and organisations providing services related to autism, ADHD, developmental delays, language and communication difficulties, and related developmental needs.

The directory may include psychologists, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavioural therapists, PRT or ABA professionals, parent-training specialists, music therapists, multidisciplinary centres, inclusive schools and other relevant providers.

The professional network is currently intended to remain limited to up to 50 individual professionals or small centres nationwide, with up to 10 inclusive schools listed separately.

AutismTherapy.nl provides the platform through which families can discover professionals. AutismTherapy.nl does not itself provide the services advertised by independent directory members and does not become a party to the treatment or service relationship between a family and a listed provider.

2. Independent professionals

Professionals, clinics, centres and schools listed on AutismTherapy.nl operate independently.

Each listed provider is solely responsible for:

  • determining whether they are qualified and legally permitted to provide their services;

  • maintaining any registrations, licences, qualifications and professional insurance required for their work;

  • assessing whether a particular client is suitable for their services;

  • obtaining appropriate consent;

  • safeguarding and confidentiality;

  • treatment plans, advice and clinical decisions;

  • record keeping;

  • complaints concerning their services;

  • their own fees, invoices and taxation; and

  • compliance with all laws and professional standards applicable to them.

Independent healthcare professionals in the Netherlands may themselves be subject to statutory obligations concerning the quality and responsibility for the care they provide. The Dutch healthcare regulator specifically states that independently operating healthcare providers with their own clients remain responsible for the care they provide and enter into their own care agreements with clients.

A provider's presence on AutismTherapy.nl does not make that provider an employee, agent, subcontractor or representative of AutismTherapy.nl.

3. Selection and information about professionals

AutismTherapy.nl may review information, professional background or qualifications provided by applicants before accepting them into the network.

However, inclusion in the directory should not be understood as a guarantee, certification or warranty regarding a professional's suitability for a particular child or family, the quality of a specific treatment, or the outcome of services.

Professionals are responsible for ensuring that the information displayed on their profiles is accurate and current.

Families should make their own assessment of a provider and may ask a professional directly about qualifications, registrations, experience, insurance, treatment methods and suitability before beginning services.

4. Contacting a professional

Families contact listed professionals directly.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, AutismTherapy.nl:

  • does not allocate or assign therapists;

  • does not make clinical decisions;

  • does not determine treatment;

  • does not negotiate or collect treatment fees;

  • does not supervise the professional;

  • does not receive a percentage of the professional's treatment income; and

  • does not become a party to any agreement between the professional and the client.

Any treatment or service agreement is made directly between the family/client and the chosen provider.

The provider determines their own availability, acceptance criteria, waiting times, prices, cancellation policies and other service conditions.

5. No guarantee of availability or results

AutismTherapy.nl aims to make it easier for families to find appropriate support, but we cannot guarantee that:

  • a particular professional will have availability;

  • a professional will accept a particular client;

  • services will be available in a particular location or language;

  • a particular intervention will be appropriate;

  • therapy will achieve a particular outcome;

  • information provided by a listed professional will remain unchanged; or

  • every family will find a suitable professional through the Website.

Any decision to start, continue or stop treatment should be made between the client or parent/guardian and the relevant qualified professional.

6. The Website does not provide medical advice

Information on AutismTherapy.nl is provided for general informational and directory purposes.

Nothing on the Website should be interpreted as an individual diagnosis, medical opinion, psychological assessment, treatment recommendation or substitute for professional healthcare advice.

Information about autism, ADHD, developmental delays, therapies or interventions is general in nature and may not be appropriate for every child.

If you have concerns about a child's health, development, safety or wellbeing, you should contact an appropriate qualified healthcare professional.

7. Emergencies

AutismTherapy.nl is not an emergency or crisis service.

Do not use the Website, contact forms or individual directory enquiries for situations requiring urgent medical, psychiatric or safeguarding assistance.

In an emergency in the Netherlands, call 112 or contact the appropriate urgent medical or crisis service.

8. Fees and payments

Unless specifically stated otherwise, AutismTherapy.nl does not process or receive payments for therapy or other services provided by listed professionals.

Any fees displayed on a provider's profile are supplied by that provider and may change. Families should confirm current prices, reimbursement possibilities and payment conditions directly with the professional before starting services.

AutismTherapy.nl is not responsible for financial disputes between clients and providers.

9. Liability of listed professionals

Each listed provider bears responsibility and liability for their own professional services, conduct, advice and decisions.

Any complaint, damage or dispute arising from treatment or other services provided by a directory member must in the first instance be addressed to that provider or organisation.

Where applicable, healthcare providers may have statutory obligations concerning complaints and quality procedures under Dutch healthcare legislation.

AutismTherapy.nl does not assume professional liability for services provided independently by directory members.

10. Liability of AutismTherapy.nl

We make reasonable efforts to maintain the Website, present information accurately and operate the directory responsibly.

However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AutismTherapy.nl and Therapy Care are not liable for losses or damages resulting from:

  • services provided by independent professionals;

  • acts or omissions of a professional, centre, school or other third party;

  • treatment outcomes;

  • inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information supplied by a provider;

  • a provider's unavailability;

  • failure of a professional to respond to an enquiry;

  • disputes between clients and providers;

  • temporary interruption or technical failure of the Website;

  • lost or delayed messages;

  • third-party websites or services;

  • changes in Google, Bing or other search-engine visibility; or

  • indirect loss, loss of opportunity or consequential loss.

11. No guarantee concerning search results

AutismTherapy.nl may refer to its historical search-engine visibility or website traffic.

Search-engine rankings and traffic naturally change over time. We therefore do not guarantee that AutismTherapy.nl, an individual professional, or any particular page will maintain a particular position on Google, Bing or any other search or AI platform.

12. Content provided by professionals

Listed providers grant AutismTherapy.nl permission to display the profile information, photographs, logos and other materials they submit for publication.

Providers confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to supply those materials.

AutismTherapy.nl may make reasonable edits to spelling, formatting, presentation and layout without materially changing the meaning of the information submitted.

We may correct, suspend or remove a profile if we reasonably believe that information is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or inappropriate, or where continuation of the listing could create a risk to users or the Website.

13. Affiliated professionals

Therapy Care, the founders of AutismTherapy.nl or professionals affiliated with them may separately provide autism, developmental or psychological services through other organisations, brands or websites.

They may also appear as professionals within the AutismTherapy.nl directory. Where they do, their directory profile is subject to the same general directory structure as other listed professionals.

AutismTherapy.nl itself is intended to operate primarily as a professional directory and discovery platform, rather than as a central service that takes or distributes the treatment income of directory members.

14. External links

The Website may contain links to professional websites, social-media profiles, booking systems, schools or other third-party resources.

AutismTherapy.nl does not control these external websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, privacy practices, content or services.

Visiting third-party websites is at the user's own discretion.

15. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the AutismTherapy.nl name, website design, written content, graphics and other original Website materials belong to AutismTherapy.nl or are used with permission.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, republished or commercially reused without prior permission, except where permitted by law.

Professionals retain ownership of their own photographs, logos and original materials submitted for their profiles.

16. Acceptable use

Users may not use the Website to:

  • provide false or misleading information;

  • impersonate another person or professional;

  • attempt unauthorised access to the Website;

  • scrape or systematically copy directory information for commercial purposes;

  • send spam or abusive communications;

  • upload unlawful or infringing material; or

  • interfere with the security or functioning of the Website.

We reserve the right to restrict access where misuse occurs.

17. Changes to the Website and these Terms

AutismTherapy.nl may update the Website, directory structure or these Terms from time to time.

The current version will always be published on this page together with the date of the most recent update.

Changes will not affect statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

These Terms are governed by Dutch law.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to the competent Dutch court, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules concerning jurisdiction and applicable law.
